Real Life Real Talk Mentoring

Oklahoma has the highest female incarceration rate in the nation-some 132 women out of every 100,000 are behind bars — almost double the national average. This results in many children not having a maternal influence in their lives.
To help combat the effects of this devastating situation, our Real Life, Real Talk mentorship program is a monthly and weekly gathering for TEEN GIRLS. Here, we address having healthy relationships, character building, self-awareness, self-esteem, and life-skills. Each month there will be a specific topic and special guest speaker! Like the Rise Up Young Men program, we provide a safe and positive environment for our teen girls and provide several opportunities for them to develop positive peer relationships and communication skills, cultivate leadership abilities, along with empower character development and civic responsibility. We engage in community service projects, academic skills enrichment activities, life-skills teaching, and engaging productive ventures throughout the year.
